SOMETHING, SO TO SPEAK

(Installation, text and chrome wire shelving, dimensions variable, 2016)

A fictionalised account of the artist’s engagement with various migrant workers over the course of the project, problematising the positions and perspectives of the parties involved. Touching on issues such as the colonial penal colony, the ban, biopolitics of sex, capital and philosophy that is weaved alongside narratives about the predicaments of migrant labour in Singapore.

The installation further complicates the text by presenting it as both writing and aesthetic display.
