ORPHIC ORACULAR

A stab at the unknown, the forest represents a return to a space and time where one is beholden to its power, but one that opens up new possibility to relook and rethink the space for the art object, and its site.
Orphic Oracular immerses a collection of artworks and their artist (Weronika Trojanska, Laurent-David Garnier, Robertas Narkus and Gerard Ortin) in a film set within a man-made forest park at the edge of Amsterdam to the theme of Orpheus and Eurydice.
The project is, thus an incursion into Western art history. Reflecting on classical imagery derived from Greek myths, the figure of Eurydice and the satyr, the practice of witchcraft within the forest and the role and very image of fire.
